We are looking for caring, resilient and motivated Residential Support Workers to join our brand-new children's residential home. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated team from the very beginning, helping to create a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where children and young people can feel secure, valued and supported.
No two days are the same. You'll play a vital role in helping children build confidence, develop life skills, overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, educational and social needs are met.
Working alongside the Registered Manager and Senior Residential Support Workers, you will help create a stable, caring home where children can recover from past experiences and build brighter futures.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, child-centred care in line with individual care plans.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Promote a safe, nurturing and therapeutic home environment.
- Support children with daily routines, including education, appointments, hobbies and community activities.
- Encourage independence, confidence and life skills.
- Support children to manage emotions and behaviours using trauma-informed approaches.
- Complete accurate daily records, reports and observations.
- Support children to attend school, college or alternative education provisions.
- Administer medication in accordance with company policies (following training).
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers, education providers and other professionals.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision and ongoing training.
- Take part in sleep-in duties and work a rota that includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Essential Experience
We welcome applications from candidates with experience working with children or vulnerable people in settings such as:
- Children's residential care.

- Residential special educational needs (SEN) services.
- Health and social care.
- Mental health services.

Essential Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) (or equivalent), or be willing to work towards the qualification within the required timescales.
- A full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
- An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), trauma or attachment needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- Medication administration training.
- First Aid qualification.
- Understanding of Ofsted Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
