Female Domiciliary Care Worker – Companionship Visits

Pay: £13 per hour plus travel cost

About the role
L&T Healthcare Ltd is looking for a kind, reliable and friendly female domiciliary care worker to support an elderly lady in her own home.
The role focuses on companionship, general wellbeing checks, medication prompting and light household duties. The successful applicant should live in or close to the Marple/Marple Bridge area and be able to build a warm, trusting relationship with the client.
Visits will last two hours and can begin at any time between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The exact start time is flexible and can be agreed with the successful applicant. There may be an opportunity for the hours to increase over time.
Main duties
- Providing friendly companionship and conversation
- Checking on the client’s general wellbeing
- Prompting and reminding the client to take her medication
- Preparing a drink or light snack when required
- Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen tidy
- Light housework, including hoovering
- Helping to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable home
- Reporting any concerns or changes in the client’s wellbeing
- Completing brief and accurate care records
About you
We are looking for someone who is:

- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- Able to work independently
- Respectful of the client’s dignity, privacy and choices
- A good communicator
- Living locally or able to travel reliably to the area
Previous care experience is helpful but not essential, as appropriate guidance and support will be provided.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to complete one
- Right to work in the UK
- Reliable transport to and from the client’s home
- Satisfactory references
- Willingness to complete required training
