JDR Cable Systems is looking for an experienced and proactive Stores Person to join the team at our Blyth manufacturing facility.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient management of raw materials and maintaining high standards of stock accuracy, traceability and compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Working closely with the Stores Team Leader and Planning team, you will help ensure materials are available to support production while contributing to continuous improvement across warehouse processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out day-to-day warehouse operations including goods receiving, storage, inventory management and dispatch
Operate and maintain MRP/ERP systems to ensure accurate stock control and full material traceability
Support the development and implementation of warehouse procedures aligned to lean and continuous improvement principles
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, environmental standards and relevant UK regulations
Maintain accurate documentation and records to support audits and regulatory inspections
Monitor and report key warehouse KPIs such as inventory accuracy, picking accuracy and on-time shipments
Manage spare parts inventory and carry out bi-annual stock checks
Managing the small part stores including the creation of SOP’s and new Small Part Stores procedures
Administration of documentation including delivery documentation, scanning, compiling COC, COAs, DOCs etc
Liaise with offsite storage facilities and ports to coordinate raw material supply into the Blyth warehouse and manufacturing plant
We are looking for someone with strong warehouse experience who enjoys working in a structured and quality-driven environment.
You will ideally have:
Proven experience in warehouse or industrial supply chain operations
Experience using MRP/ERP systems
Strong understanding of warehouse compliance, traceability and HSE requirements
Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills
Forklift licence or experience operating material handling equipment (desirable)
Knowledge of Lean / 6S principles
Desirable Experience:
Experience within high-volume manufacturing environments
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production setting
A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving and process improvement
Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
