Job Summary
We are seeking vigilant and dedicated Security Personnel to oversee safety and security at the Modified Nationals Event. It is a 3 day car show event, 26-28 June and SIA Security officers as wel as stewards can apply.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, monitoring activity through surveillance systems, and providing assistance in emergency situations. This role requires a professional attitude, keen observation skills, and the ability to respond swiftly to any incidents. Prior experience in event security or loss prevention is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Conduct continuous surveillance of the event area using CCTV systems to monitor activity and identify potential security threats
- Perform regular patrols of the venue to ensure safety protocols are being adhered to and to deter unauthorised access
- Assist with loss prevention by observing suspicious behaviour and intervening when necessary
- Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, including providing first aid if required
- Enforce event rules and regulations, ensuring all attendees comply with safety guidelines
- Liaise with event organisers, emergency services, and other security personnel to coordinate responses to incidents
- Maintain detailed incident reports and record any unusual or suspicious activity for future reference
Requirements
- Prior experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring procedures is desirable
- First aid certification or willingness to undertake first aid training is essential
- Strong observational skills with the ability to detect suspicious activity quickly
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanour
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Flexibility to work during event hours, including evenings and weekends as required
- Must be physically fit enough to patrol the venue and stand for extended periods during shifts
