About the role
AMC Training & Consultancy Ltd is looking for an experienced, hands-on Finance Officer to take ownership of both the day-to-day bookkeeping and the wider financial picture of the organisation. This is a broad role that suits someone who is equally comfortable raising an invoice and preparing a cash flow forecast.
You'll be trusted to keep the finances running smoothly and accurately, while also acting as a knowledgeable advisor on planning, funding and tax. Because we're a small team, we need a self-starter who can work independently, spot issues early and keep everything organised without close supervision.
What you'll be doing
Financial planning & advisory
- Managing and monitoring cash flow, and flagging any concerns in good time
- Preparing budgets and financial forecasts to support decision-making
- Supporting grant applications and managing the financial reporting that funders require
- Advising on tax matters and ensuring the organisation stays compliant
Day-to-day accounts & administration
- Raising quotes, invoices and statements of account
- Processing and reconciling banking, and keeping records up to date
- Running payroll accurately and on time
- General bookkeeping and keeping the finance function organised and audit-ready
What we're looking for
Essential
- Solid, proven experience in a similar finance or bookkeeping role
- Confident across the full picture - from forecasting and tax through to invoicing and payroll
- Experience with grant/funding applications and reporting (highly desirable)
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software [e.g. Xero / QuickBooks / Sage - specify]
- Accurate, well-organised and able to manage your own workload independently
- Discreet and trustworthy when handling sensitive financial information
- Lives within easy reach of Lisburn — this role is [office-based / partly on-site]
Desirable
- A relevant accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, ACA or QBE with strong experience)
- Experience working within a small business setting
