Company: KDE - Facilities Management
Job type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Office & Field-based
About the role
KDE is growing its new business team, and we're looking for an enthusiastic, driven Business Development Executive to work alongside our Business Development Manager. This is the perfect next step for someone with a taste of sales or client-facing experience who wants to build a genuine career in business development - with structured support, a clear growth path, and real ownership from day one.
You'll play a vital role in fuelling KDE's pipeline: generating leads, opening doors and setting the stage for our BDM to close. In return, you'll get hands-on coaching, exposure to the full sales cycle, and a fast track towards becoming a Business Development Manager yourself.
Why KDE?
- A structured entry point into business development, with direct mentoring from our Business Development Manager and Head of Business Development
- Competitive base salary plus commission
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- A small, close-knit team where your contribution is visible and valued from week one
- A genuine progression path - this role is designed as a launchpad towards a BDM position
- Exposure to the full sales cycle: prospecting, pipeline management, client meetings and deal support
- A supportive, sociable culture that celebrates wins as a team, not just as individuals
What you'll be doing
Working closely with our Business Development Manager, you'll help keep the pipeline full and moving, while building the skills and relationships to grow your own career. You will:
- Generate and qualify new leads through outbound calls, LinkedIn outreach and email campaigns
- Support the BDM in researching prospects, sectors and target accounts
- Book and coordinate meetings, site visits and networking opportunities for the BDM
- Maintain and update the CRM, ensuring the pipeline is accurate and actionable
- Assist with preparing proposals, quotations and tender documentation
- Join client meetings alongside the BDM to learn, support and build your confidence
- Carry out market and competitor research to help shape KDE's approach
- Support marketing activity, helping bring campaigns and events to life
- Follow up on warm leads and nurture early-stage relationships until they're ready to hand over
- Take on a growing share of your own smaller accounts and opportunities as you develop
What we're looking for
We're looking for potential and attitude as much as experience. Ideally, you'll bring:
- Some experience in sales, telesales or lead generation
- An interest in Facilities Management, Maintenance, Construction, Property or Electrical services (not essential, but a bonus)
- A confident, personable manner on the phone and in person
- Bags of enthusiasm and a genuine desire to build a career in business development
- Strong organisational skills and comfort managing multiple tasks and priorities
- A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort using CRM systems and everyday office software (training provided)
- A full UK driving licence is desirable, as you may join site visits with the BDM
The package
- Competitive base salary, depending on experience
- Commission structure rewarding your contribution to the pipeline
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Additional annual leave
- Direct mentoring and a clear path towards a Business Development Manager role
- Wellbeing portal with EAP & Digital GP access
…plus pension, retail discounts, paid volunteering, referral programme and a genuinely supportive team.
