We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice to join our dynamic team at St Tewdrics House. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience while developing their skills in a professional environment within an award winning wedding venue.
We have teamed up with Gower College Swansea to offer a qualification in Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management Foundation Apprenticeship in Facilities Services.
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of Facilities Services. You'll be a key part of our team, supporting the day-to-day operations that keep our venue running smoothly and ensuring a safe, secure and professionnal environment for our clients.
What you'll be doing
As a Facilities Services Apprentice, you'll be involved in a variety of tasks, including:
- Supporting the delivery of facilities services, including mainly working in the housekeeping department.
- The Housekeeping department covers the upkeep, cleaning, maintaining of the venue to ensure our clients have a pristine stay each time.
- Monthly auditing of rooms
- Training in COSHH provided
- Assiting with bar deliveries
- Assisting and delivering set up of venue for civil cermemonies and all wedding day preparation
- Experience will also be provided in the grounds and general maintenance department, our bar department and wedding sales. You will also gain valuable experience in the operations of wedding day management.
- Assisting with planned maintenance and reactive works.
- Contributing to the creation of reports and maintaining accurate records.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and organisational procedures.
- Providing excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who are:
- Aged 18 or over.
- Resident in Wales.
- Able to demonstrate basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Keen to learn and develop new skills.
- Customer-focused with strong communication skills.
- Possess a proactive attitude and a willingness to collaborate within a team.
- Flexibility with your work pattern and be able to commit to working weekends along with longer shifts on wedding or event days. When you are allocated to the bar department you will be expected to work in the evenings to close of business. Our weddings and events take place all year round, 7 days a week, therefore this is not a Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 role.
