Trainee Driller/Fabricator
RCS Doors is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Driller/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in engineering and metal fabrication.
As a Trainee Driller/Fabricator, you will receive full training while working alongside experienced engineers. You will learn how to manufacture high-quality components using a range of machinery, hand tools and fabrication techniques, with opportunities to progress as your skills develop.
Responsibilities
- Learn to safely operate pillar drills and other fabrication machinery.
- Assist with cutting, drilling, and assembling metal components.
- Learn how to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing paperwork.
- Work alongside experienced Fabrication Engineers to produce components to a high standard.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and correctly.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure parts meet company standards.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy and organised.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Work effectively as part of the manufacturing team to meet production deadlines.
- Develop new skills through on-the-job training and continuous learning.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong attention to detail.
What We're Looking For
No previous fabrication experience is required as full training will be provided. However, the ideal candidate will have:
- A genuine interest in engineering, manufacturing or metal fabrication.
- Good practical skills and a willingness to learn.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Good attention to detail.
- The ability to follow instructions and work safely.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or an interest in how things work.
- The ability to work well as part of a team.
- Good timekeeping and reliability.
Desirable
- Experience using hand or power tools.
- Previous experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings.
- Welding or metalworking experience.
