Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of menu items to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate orders, relay them efficiently to the kitchen, and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages
- Maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness throughout service, including proper handling of food preparation areas
- Upsell menu items and specials to maximize guest satisfaction and restaurant revenue
- Check in with guests periodically to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly
- Manage multiple tables with effective time management, ensuring attentive service without sacrificing quality
- Assist in setting up and clearing tables, refilling beverages, and maintaining a tidy dining area
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are most important
- Familiarity with food safety protocols and basic food handling procedures
- Ability to perform basic math for billing and cash handling accurately
- Kitchen or culinary experience is a plus, providing insight into food preparation processes
- Strong guest service skills with a focus on creating welcoming environments
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy service periods efficiently
