Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting for a Social Worker – Children’s Duty & Assessment Team in Bradford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Children’s Social Worker to join a dedicated Children’s Duty & Assessment Team, completing timely assessments and providing effective support to children and families at the earliest stage of intervention.
You will play a key role in responding to referrals, assessing risk, identifying children’s needs, and working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to ensure children are safeguarded and receive the right support. You will be part of a supportive and progressive service focused on improving outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and families requiring assessment and intervention
- Respond to incoming referrals and undertake initial screening and information gathering
- Complete timely statutory assessments, including Child and Family Assessments
- Identify risks, needs, and strengths within families to inform effective intervention plans
- Undertake direct work with children, young people, and families to understand their experiences and wishes
- Make evidence-based decisions to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes
- Develop and implement appropriate support plans in partnership with families and professionals
- Work collaboratively with education, health, police, and other partner agencies
- Attend strategy discussions, child protection meetings, and multi-agency meetings where required
- Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and case records in line with statutory requirements
- Progress cases appropriately through Children’s Services pathways where ongoing support is required
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work
- Registration with Social Work England
- Experience working within Children’s Social Care
- Experience completing assessments, safeguarding work, and statutory interventions
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practice
- Excellent communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively under pressure
- Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and families
