We are currently recruiting for LGV Waste Collection Drivers to join the team in Gloucester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within an essential service helping keep Gloucester clean, safe, and environmentally friendly.
The Role
As an LGV Waste Collection Driver, you will be responsible for driving waste and recycling collection vehicles across Gloucester City, following planned collection routes safely and efficiently.
This role involves driving in residential areas, including narrow streets and reversing manoeuvres, so applicants must be confident, safety conscious, and considerate drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive waste and recycling collection vehicles safely and responsibly
- Follow pre-planned collection routes and route risk assessments
- Carry out daily vehicle checks before use
- Report vehicle defects and complete required compliance paperwork
- Assist with loading duties when required
- Ensure vehicles are unloaded, refuelled, and ready for the next shift
- Work in line with health & safety procedures and transport legislation
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and teamwork
What We’re Looking For
- Valid LGV licence
- CPC and Digital Tacho Card
- Previous driving experience preferred
- Comfortable driving large vehicles in tight residential areas
- Reliable, punctual, and safety focused
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Pay: £16.62-£17.62 per hour
