We’re looking for a proactive Café Manager to help deliver a high‑quality café experience at Queenswood Arboretum & Country Park. You will work closely with the Head of Commercial to:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the HWT Queenswood Cafe blending operational excellence with creativity and customer focus to ensure the cafe is welcoming and profitable.
- Promote income generation and drive business growth of the Cafe
- Ensure best-in-class customer service
- Lead and manage an engaged Café team
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Café Assistants both full and part time, recruiting, training, and supervising staff
- Manage café income and expenditure against agreed budgets using café financial systems, including stock ordering, cashing up each day and adding stock to back office till system
- Ensure that all health and safety obligations are met in all aspects of the role
- To act as customer champion, promoting a best-in-class level of customer service to ensure that visitors receive a highly valued customer experience at Queenswood
- Create a vibrant menu offering for the Café to promote increased use and turnover, and to maximise its profit whilst considering a range of dietary needs, and utilising local suppliers where appropriate
About You
- Experience in hospitality or café/restaurant environments
- Experience in managing and leading a team
- Friendly, customer‑focused, and able to work flexibly
- Committed to maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and food hygiene
- Proficient IT user including POS systems, MS Word, Outlook, Excel
