Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a Cleaner to join our team. As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in various areas in our waste recycling facility. This is an important role as it contributes to creating a safe and pleasant environment for our customers and employees.
The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment in assigned areas of the company's facilities including but not limited to office areas, meeting rooms, canteen and shower block. This includes performing general cleaning duties, restocking supplies, following established procedures and safety protocols, and any other related duties required by the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
· Clean and sanitize designated areas, including offices, restrooms, meeting rooms, canteen, and other assigned spaces.
· Sweep, vacuum, mop, and polish floors, carpets, and hard surfaces.
· Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, windows, and other surfaces.
· Collect and dispose of general waste and dry mixed recycling waste from internal bins.
· Restock supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and other consumables in restrooms and communal areas.
· Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and machinery, such as vacuums efficiently.
· Follow safety protocols and procedures for handling and storing cleaning supplies and equipment in line with internal procedures and COSHH assessments.
· Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the Operations Manager or Compliance Manager.
· Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organisation in assigned areas.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Previous experience in a cleaning or janitorial role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry out cleaning duties for extended periods.
- Understanding of the safe handling and usage of cleaning products and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Previous experience of working within an industrial site together with a basic understanding of operational safety requirements would be preferred but not essential
