About the Role
You will work on a 1:1 basis with children and young people in homes, libraries, community venues or schools, delivering engaging sessions that build confidence as well as academic progress.
Many of the young people we support have:
- Autism (ASD)
- ADHD
- SEMH needs
- EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
- Anxiety
- Trauma experiences
- EHCPs
- Learning difficulties
No two days are ever the same.
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging, personalised lessons.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Adapt learning to individual needs.
- Write brief weekly progress reports.
- Liaise with families and the StandUP team.
- Promote confidence, resilience and wellbeing alongside learning.
- Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.

- Think creatively.
- Have experience working with children or young people.
- Can work independently while being part of a supportive team.
Experience with SEND, SEMH or Alternative Provision is highly desirable.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to travel to students across Essex.
Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Teaching qualification
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Experience in Alternative Provision
- Experience supporting Autism, ADHD or SEMH
- Therapeutic or mentoring experience
