CNC Turner
Reports to: Group Operations Manager
Date: March 2022
Purpose
To program, set and operate a C.N.C lathe ensuring that the end product is fit for purpose and meets all customer specification .
Key Responsibilities
- Produce machined parts by programming, setting and operating a C.N.C lathe
- Ensuring that you maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment and supplies.
- Operate the CNC Lathe to drawing and job card requirements
- The ability to choose the correct tooling for each stage
- Select the correct cutting data to ensure maximum tool life
- Carry out operations to company standard times
- Ensure that the work is produced to a high standard and meets quality and company standards at all times
- Conduct basic machine maintenance
- Meet company targets for efficiency and utilization
- Take ownership of organisations goals and continuous improvement
- Document actions by completing timesheets and other paperwork as required
- Contribution towards ensuring that the shop floor environment is clean and tidy and meets the required
5S company standards
- Always seek continuous improvement of systems and processes
Measures of Success
- Positive customer feedback on quality
- Positive internal feedback on efficiency and utilisation
- Company procedures are followed
- Shop floor areas receive a high rating in 5S review
Technical/Job Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Strong CNC Machining knowledge and experience
- The ability to read and understand technical drawings
- The ability to work to a high level of accuracy with strong concentration and focus skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
- Basic math and computer skills
- Good communication skills
- A willingness to work flexibly
- The ability to work on your own or in a team environment
- The ability to maintain safe operations by adhering to health and safety procedures
- The ability to detect problems and resolve/escalate in a timely manner
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £17.00 per hour
Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
