Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic After School Sports Coach to join our team. This role involves engaging children aged 5 to 11, in various sports activities, promoting teamwork, and fostering a love for physical activity. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports and teaching, with the ability to create a positive and inclusive environment for young learners. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop coaching skills and make a meaningful impact on children's health and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate sports sessions after school, ensuring activities are fun, safe, and inclusive. Sports include but not limited to: Netball, Football, Basketball, Athletics, Tag Rugby...
- Encourage participation and teamwork among children of different skill levels
- Teach fundamental sports skills and rules in a clear and engaging manner
- Monitor children during activities to ensure safety at all times
- Provide positive feedback and support to boost children's confidence and motivation
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to support children's development and address any concerns
- Maintain organised equipment and ensure the sports area remains clean and safe after each session
Skills
- Strong teaching skills, capable of explaining rules and techniques clearly
- Excellent communication skills to engage children, parents, and colleagues effectively
- Organised with the ability to plan sessions that cater to different age groups and abilities
- Enthusiastic, patient, and approachable personality with a genuine passion for working with children
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment
Requirements
- Hold a clear, enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain)
- Hold a Pediatric First Aid Qualification (or willing to obtain)
- Level 2 Coaching Qualification (Desirable)

Pay: £15.00-£30.00 per hour
