Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Tandoori Chef or Curry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indian food preparation and culinary arts, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in creating delicious meals that delight our guests while ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Producing new tandoori dishes
- Cooking and preparation of a range of dishes
- Prepare tandoor dishes under instructions of Head Chefs
- Cook tandoori dishes on the menu following recipes
- Overall responsibility for operations of tandoori dishes
- Produce starters, mains and side dishes from the menu to a consistently high level Cook base curries
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus, taking into account seasonal availability of ingredients.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques and food preparation.
- Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items to enhance the dining experience.
- Respond to customer feedback promptly and professionally, making adjustments as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for meal preparation and presentation.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
- A culinary qualification or relevant certification is preferred but not mandatory.
