The Fig & Olive is a thriving, family-run business in Middleton, known for delivering excellent food, exceptional drinks, and outstanding customer service in a welcoming atmosphere. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and hands-on Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy bar and restaurant. 45 Hour Contract - Full Time.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, extensive food and beverage knowledge, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. Applicants must have proven cocktail-making expertise and professional barista training and experience, with the ability to maintain high standards and train team members accordingly.

Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the bar.
- Supervise, motivate, and support all bar staff, including delegating responsibilities.
- Ensure high standards of beverage preparation, food service, presentation, and customer care.
- Lead the bar team in producing high-quality cocktails, speciality coffees, and other beverages.
- Manage stock control, inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly and professionally to guest enquiries, feedback, and complaints.
- Develop and deliver staff training programmes covering cocktail preparation, barista skills, food safety, service standards, and hospitality best practices.
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve operational efficiency.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Support the continued growth and success of The Fig & Olive by creating a positive and professional team culture.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven management or supervisory experience within a bar, restaurant, café, or hospitality environment.
- Professional cocktail training and experience, with strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, and beverage service.
- Professional barista training and experience preparing high-quality coffee and speciality beverages.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- Extensive knowledge of food service, hospitality operations, and customer care.
- Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in menu development and seasonal beverage creation.
