Job Overview
We have an opportunity for someone to join our dynamic team at TEK Express. This is a varied role and involves supporting both the technical centre and the logistics team. Preparing new and returned devices (laptops, tablets and smartphones), which get issued to our clients’ mobile workers. The role may also involve telephone support to some of our mobile workforce workers so being confident and capable to use the telephone with a good manner is essential. To provide logistics back up and support as workload dictates – including holiday cover and during peak processing times. This is a physical role which will require some lifting and movement of boxes up to a typical weight of 25kg.
TEK Express is a rapidly growing technology services business and part of the Utelize Group. With sites in Crawley and our group Head Office in Malvern, we provide a range of managed IT, device lifecycle, and logistics services to customers across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of devices for the configuration process, including unboxing, charging devices, applying asset tags and updating the asset database.
- Basic configuration of smartphones and tablets and tracking work in progress, recording any issues and solutions implemented using the service management tool on a per ticket basis.
- Maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency when working sequentially in ‘production style’ work processes.
- Assist with the receipt and unboxing of goods coming into the logistics area and also with the reboxing and shipping out.
- Good housekeeping and logistics.
- Answering phones to deal with enquiries and helping to resolve problems.
- Ensuring all enquiries are dealt with in a customer focused manner.
- Maintaining a clear understanding of our Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Ensuring all processes are completed in adherence with our documented procedures.
Hours: Monday and Friday between the hours of 9.00am to 5.30pm
Skills and Experience
- Analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Personal organisational and time-management skills.
- Able to handle repetitive work on a production line type process
- Ability and willingness to tackle, in a structured way, a large task load and willingness to work on own initiative.
- Ability to follow clear procedures/instructions.
- Good written and verbal communications.
- A high degree of numeric accuracy for the purposes of inputting serial numbers, Sim information and asset details.
- Common sense, logical thinker with the ability to think outside the box.
- Basic understanding of IT and telecoms hardware components, their functions, types and interrelationships.
Some Knowledge of Windows, Android and IOS operating systems would be desirable however not absolutely necessary – interest and a willingness to learn are the most important attributes.
