The role
McCann is looking for a reliable and proactive Highways Electrical Asset Data Collection Operative to work across Liverpool.
The role will involve attending a range of highways electrical assets, including street lighting columns, illuminated signs and bollards, and collecting specific, pre-determined asset information using a tablet.
The information collected will be entered into the client’s asset management database and used to cleanse, verify and improve existing asset records. Accuracy is therefore critical. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and is committed to ensuring that the information collected is 100% accurate and complete.

Who we are looking for:
Previous street lighting experience is essential, as the role requires an understanding of street lighting equipment and the ability to recognise the electrical components and supply arrangements being inspected.
Site-specific training will be provided to ensure you understand exactly what information needs to be collected and how it should be recorded.
The successful candidate will:
- A valid G39 Electrical Safety in the Planning, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Public Lighting and Other Street Furniture qualification/certificate.
- A valid ECS card.
- Current Manual Handling training/certification.
- Have previous street lighting or highways electrical experience.
- Have an excellent eye for detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Be proactive, reliable and comfortable working independently.
- Take pride in completing work accurately and to a high standard.
- Be physically fit, as the role involves a significant amount of walking around Liverpool each day.
- Be comfortable using a tablet to capture and record asset information.
- A full UK driving licence is required, as the role involves travelling between sites across Liverpool.

- Attend street lighting, illuminated sign and bollard assets across Liverpool.
- Collect and record specified asset information using a tablet.
- Open street lighting column doors to inspect and identify electrical supply and feed information.
- Accurately identify and record relevant electrical and asset details.
- Verify existing information and highlight incorrect or missing data.
- Ensure all collected information is complete, consistent and accurate.
- Work independently and proactively while following the required data collection process.
