Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Customer Assistant to join our retail team. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, maintain high standards of food hygiene and store presentation, and help ensure customers enjoy a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional assistance.
- Answer customer questions and help them locate products.
- Operate the cash register and process cash, card, and contactless payments accurately.
- Replenish shelves and ensure products are well-stocked and attractively displayed.
- Monitor stock levels and report low or missing items to management.
- Check product dates and rotate stock using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the shop.
- Follow all food safety, health and safety, and company procedures.
- Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries.
- Handle customer queries or complaints politely and escalate issues when necessary.
- Support colleagues with daily store operations and opening or closing duties as required.

- Weekend, evening, and holiday shifts may be required.
