NIA Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a children’s residential care provider for a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join their team.

Job Purpose
The Team Leader will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the effective day-to-day running of the home. You will lead shifts, support staff members, ensure high standards of care are maintained, and promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
You will play an important role in creating a stable, supportive, and child-centred environment while ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Ofsted standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate shifts effectively within the home
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to Residential Support Workers
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of children and young people at all times
- Promote positive relationships and encourage emotional and social development
- Support young people with education, appointments, activities, and independent living skills
- Complete and maintain accurate daily records, incident reports, risk assessments, and care documentation
- Contribute to care planning and behaviour support strategies
- Administer medication in line with company policies and procedures
- Participate in staff supervisions, team meetings, and training
- Work in partnership with families, social workers, and other professionals
- Support management in maintaining compliance with Ofsted and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a children’s residential home
- Experience leading shifts or supervising staff within a care setting
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (essential)
- Level 4/5 qualification in Leadership and Management (desirable)
- Good understanding of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins
- Full UK driving licence preferred
