CNC Programmer Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of CNC machining processes and programming, with the ability to create precise and efficient programmes for various CNC machines. This role is critical in ensuring the production of high-quality components that meet our clients' specifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise CNC programmes for various machining operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to create programmes that meet production requirements.
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and mills, to manufacture parts according to specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections of machined parts to ensure they meet quality standards, making adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of programmes, setups, and production runs for traceability and quality assurance.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using CAD/CAM software for programming.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and materials.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and methodologies is advantageous.
- A relevant qualification in engineering or manufacturing technology is preferred but not essential.
