Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating large goods vehicles to deliver goods efficiently across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. Candidates must hold a valid HGV Class 1 licence and have relevant driving experience.
This role is Monday - Friday with possible weekend work if you wanted. 4 nights out guaranteed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 lorries to transport goods to designated destinations
- Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with schedules
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards
- Secure loads appropriately, including flatbed cargo, ensuring stability during transit
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Follow all road safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues
- Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to management
Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, ideally with delivery driver background
- Knowledge of flatbed operations and securing cargo effectively
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Good communication skills and a professional demeanour
