School Cleaning Operative
Location: Hunningley Primary Academy School, Hunningley Lane, S70 3DT
Hours: Part-Time – Monday to Friday, 5:30am – 7:45am (2.5 hours per day)
Contract: 43 Weeks Per Year (Term Time)
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days pro rata, inclusive of bank holidays (holidays to be taken during school holiday periods).

Working as part of our Cleaning & Hygiene division, you will help provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors by delivering high-quality cleaning services each day. Role Overview
Reporting to the Cleaning Supervisor / Contract Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out daily cleaning duties to ensure the school is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Working independently and as part of a wider team, you will follow established cleaning procedures, use equipment safely and professionally, and help create a clean environment for everyone using the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hoover designated areas including classrooms, corridors and communal spaces.
- Wipe down desks, furniture and touchpoints.
- Clean, sanitise and disinfect toilets and washroom facilities.
- Mop and maintain hard floor surfaces.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of waste correctly.
- Replenish soap, paper products and other consumables where required.
- Use cleaning equipment and products safely in accordance with COSHH guidance.
- Report maintenance issues, damage or defective equipment to the Cleaning Supervisor or Contract Manager.
- Maintain cleaning equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Follow all company policies, site procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
- Deliver high standards of cleanliness whilst working within allocated timescales.
- Represent Heb Group professionally at all times.
- Carry out any other duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.

Desirable
- Previous cleaning experience (preferred but not essential as full training will be provided).
- Knowledge of COSHH and safe cleaning practices.
- Experience working within a school or similar environment.
