Job Overview
We are expanding our team of community based Family Support Workers and Child Contact Supervisors across London and the South East. Candidates must have experience working with families.
These are flexible bank roles playing a vital part in supporting families across the region. Candidates must be willing to travel outside of London to bordering counties if needed to offer support. Travel time and mileage is paid. Locations do vary based on where a family lives and all our team can choose which work to accept.
Given this is a community role and driven by Local Authority and family needs, all positions are zero-hour bank contracts, as we cannot guarantee minimum hours each month due to the demand driven nature of our work
Child Contact Supervision
Your would be overseeing family time spent between a parent and child not living together. The children we work with may be living with a parent, an extended family member or foster carers. As a community-based contact supervisor, you would be overseeing the time they spend with their children and writing a report up afterwards.
Once a family is allocated to you contacts tend to take place on a regular basis eg 2-3 hrs once a week over many months.
Family Support Work
When undertaking Family Support Work it will tend to be with a family over a period of a few months, often as part of a community based assessment.
When we are undertaking an assessment shift lengths are set to meet family needs but often 4 hrs to 12 hrs a day, over several weeks. Some night shifts tend to be available too for those wanting them, but are optional, so night only candidates please still do apply, also those willing to undertake 24hrs shifts with sleeping nights, when needed.
ALL OUR TEAM ARE TRAINED IN BOTH FAMILY SUPPORT AND CHILD CONTACT SUPERVISION.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children and families in a support or social care setting
- Strong communication skills, fluent English both verbal and written, with the ability to build trusting relationships
- Experience working collaboratively within multi-agency teams is desirable
- Willingness to travel extensively across different locations is essential for this role
- Computer owner with MS word for report writing.
- Car owner essential, as this is community based work
- Willing to undertake Lone Working

All employees must have an Enhanced DBS check or be willing to apply and pay for one if successful. Full training is given.
This is an employed position, the salary is:
£14ph Monday to Friday
£15ph Saturday
£16ph Sunday
Travel time £13ph
Given all roles are zero hour bank roles with no guaranteed monthly hours please ensure this would be suitable for you before applying.
Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
