Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our dynamic culinary team with cooking for our community centre and Nursery. Interview process will be short to meet the demands of a quick start as needed asap . This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation and catering, with a keen eye for food safety and excellent service. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of our kitchen, assisting with meal preparation and supporting the culinary team in delivering high-quality dining experiences.
Duties
- Assist in food preparation and meal assembly, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards
- Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and following recipes that provided with a weekly meal plan from the nursery.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist with catering events, setting up and serving food as required
- Help in serving meals to customers or guests in a professional manner
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Support the team during busy periods to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or hospitality environment is essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- To have an up-to-date DBS is desirable, but will be obtained
- Basic cooking skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work well within a team
- At least 6 Hours (Casual Work) More details to be provided upon interview
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a culinary setting
- Support our volunteers with cleaning, preparation and to manage the group at all times.
