Senior Accountant – Accountancy Practice

We are working with a well-established and growing independent accountancy practice in Sheffield that is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant as part of its continued expansion.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant to take ownership of a client portfolio within a supportive, well-run firm that values autonomy, technical quality, and long-term progression.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing a portfolio of SME clients
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for Ltd companies, sole traders, and partnerships
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, handling queries and meetings
- Reviewing work prepared by junior team members
- Supporting the wider team and contributing to the ongoing development of the practice
The Ideal Candidate
You will:
- Have current or recent experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Be ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
- Be confident managing client relationships independently
- Have strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax
- Be organised, commercially aware, and comfortable working with minimal supervision
