Duties
- Oversee daily operations within the care home, ensuring compliance with care standards and regulations
- Supervise and support care staff, providing guidance and mentorship to foster professional development
- Administer medications in accordance with prescribed care plans, maintaining accurate records
- Develop, review, and update personalised care plans tailored to individual resident needs
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery
- Assist with organising activities and programmes that promote residents’ independence and wellbeing
- Ensure adherence to health and safety policies, including infection control measures
- Support with driving responsibilities as required for resident outings or appointments
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a care home or senior care setting
- Extensive knowledge of medication management and adherence to relevant regulations
- Experience in developing and implementing personalised care plans
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Competent in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Driving experience is desirable for facilitating resident outings or appointments

I am looking for a Medication Trained Day Senior Carer for two days a week to lead on the Mental Health/Dementia unit of 23 residents. You must have your Level 2 and be doing your Level 3 or be willing to enrol on to do this. You will be responsible for staff supervisions and audits and to lead by example. You MUST be IT confident as our care pans are on line.
Recent care home experience is ESSENTIAL. You will be responsible for administering medication so having training and experience in this is vital. You will receive further medication training and support from a current senior and Nurses.
We are 55 bed nursing dementia home on three floors with EOL/advanced dementia, Mental Health and Challenging Behaviour. Caring nature is essential. Weekends included as part of rota. You will have 3-4 weeks rota in advance.
Shifts are 6.45am-7pm
