Eileen changed a man's life.
So can you.
Years ago, a woman called Eileen looked after our founder Matt's grandad. She wasn't just competent she connected. She was authentic. Oh yes, she used to eff and jeff her way through the morning but did she it with a heart of pure gold. She made him laugh. She got his curtains cleaned (she noticed) She knew his stories. She introduced him to life long friends. Basically, when she walked through the door, his whole day got better.
Then Eileen retired. The care that followed ticked every box on the form. It was clean, safe, on time. And it left Matt's grandad feeling completely unseen. The sandwich was the same. The feeling was lost.
That contrast is the entire reason Pure Life exists. Matt believed every Grandad, every Nan, Mum or Dad, deserves an Eileen. Someone who cares not from a checklist but from the heart. With Laughter. Creating Belonging. The small human touches that tell someone they still matter. Yes, really matter.
We're building a team of Eileen's in Faversham. If you've read this far, there's a good chance you're one of them.
This is what the job feels like
Not duties, pure feelings because that's what the people you visit will remember.
You'll help someone stay in the home they love, with their dignity fully intact. You'll support with the practical things. You know things like personal care, meals, medication, the daily routine but the part that really matters is how. You'll be the friendly face someone waits by the window for. The five minutes of proper conversation in a quiet day. The person who notices they seem a bit off today and gently asks why.
“It doesn't feel like work. I can't believe I get paid to do this.” — Lynne, Pure Life Carer
You're one of us if…
Forget qualifications for a second. The people who thrive here share three things:
- You do the right thing when nobody's watching. No one's checking. You just do it anyway.
- You'd treat every home like it belongs to someone you love. Because to somebody, it does.
- You want to belong to something, not just fill a shift. You're after meaning, not just money (though we've sorted the money too)
If you nodded at those, keep reading. If you didn't, you'll be happier somewhere else, and that's genuinely fine.
What you'll get
We won't hide anything behind the word “competitive”:
- £15.00 per hour average based on 9 pay rates, so it rises with your experience and hours
- Paid mileage your time and fuel are yours, not ours
- 28 days annual leave (pro-rated part-time), because everyone needs to switch off
- An extra paid day off on your birthday celebrate, or commiserate, your call
- Profit share when Pure Life does well, so do you. Your work built it.
- Refer-a-friend rewards good people know good people
- Real career progression and funded qualifications
- A management team that actually listens and celebrates you, not just your timesheet
Two honest things before you apply
We'd rather tell you now than surprise you later:
- Shifts start at 7am. Early mornings are part of the deal.
- You'll work every other weekend. We care seven days a week, and we spread that fairly across the whole team so nobody carries more than their share and Doreen gets the consistency they deserve (as does everybody else)
If early starts and alternate weekends work for your life, this could be perfect for you.
The question worth asking yourself
Not “am I qualified?” because we'll train you. Ask this instead:
Do you want a job you clock out of, or people who look forward to seeing you?
If it's the second one, you already have the only thing we can't teach.
Applying takes a minute
No essay, no cover letter. Just get in touch today with your CV and tell us one thing: who was your Eileen? You know the one person who made someone in your life feel truly cared for. Could you be that for someone else?
That's the whole application. We'll take it from there.
Most people who feel something reading this go on to apply. We'd love to hear from you.
