Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced CLASS 1 HGV DRIVER to join our team operating in and across the UK & EU as a Tramper. Duties
- Operate Class 1 Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), including flatbed trucks, across regional and EU routes with precision and safety.
- Load and unload cargo securely onto flatbeds, ensuring proper handling and adherence to load safety standards.
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery times while complying with legal driving hours and regulations.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, tachograph records, and route sheets.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any incidents encountered during transit.
- Maintain a professional attitude at all times, representing the company positively during interactions with clients and partners.
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver
- ADR Training a plus.
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations within the EU and regional road laws.
- Skilled in handling large vehicles safely under various weather conditions and terrains.
- Excellent planning skills for route management and time efficiency.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and identify maintenance needs.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients, dispatchers, and team members.
- Prior experience with delivery driver roles that involve long-distance travel or trampers is highly desirable.
