About Cradle Studios
Cradle Studios Ltd is an independent UK production company dedicated to creating high-quality Catholic films, documentaries, digital content and broadcast productions. Now entering our second year, we are growing rapidly, working with dioceses, charities, broadcasters and international Catholic organisations to tell stories of faith with cinematic quality and journalistic integrity.
We're looking for a talented full-time Video Editor to join our team and help shape the next chapter of our productions.
The Role
You'll take projects from rushes to final delivery, crafting compelling stories across documentaries, commercial productions, social media campaigns and broadcast programmes. You'll work closely with producers and directors to develop edits that combine strong storytelling with high production values.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced editor who enjoys working across a wide variety of productions and wants to play a key role in a growing creative company.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' commercial editing experience.
- Professional credits in television, broadcasting, commercial or documentary production.
- Excellent knowledge of DaVinci Resolve and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Strong understanding of narrative structure, pacing and visual storytelling.
- Experience with colour workflows, audio finishing and broadcast delivery.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience editing documentaries or factual television.
- Motion graphics experience using Adobe After Effects.
- Colour grading experience in DaVinci Resolve.
- Familiarity with camera formats including Sony FX and Canon Cinema workflows.
- Experience working with multicam edits and large media projects.
- An interest in history, art, religion or current affairs.
What You'll Be Doing
- Editing documentaries, interviews and commercial productions.
- Creating short-form social media content and promotional films.
- Collaborating with producers from initial assembly through to final master.
- Managing media, project organisation and archive workflows.
- Preparing projects for client review and final delivery.
- Occasionally assisting on shoots and post-production planning.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who is more than just technically proficient. We want an editor with excellent storytelling instincts, creative judgement and the ability to elevate a production through thoughtful editing.
You should be comfortable taking ownership of projects, communicating ideas clearly and thriving in a small, ambitious production company where every member of the team has a meaningful impact.
Faith Requirement
Because of the nature of our work, applicants must either be practising Catholics or have a genuine desire to explore and enter the Catholic faith.
Our productions exist to communicate the beauty, truth and richness of the Catholic faith. The successful candidate will therefore be expected to engage thoughtfully with Catholic teaching and values and contribute creatively to productions that serve the Church.
A deep respect for the mission of Cradle Studios and a willingness to grow within that mission are essential.
