About WAX:
WAX is a locally run company with a Restaurant, Gym, Events company and the food and beverage supplier of Truro City Stadium and NQY Football Club.
Job Role:
We are looking for an events Chef to work within our events team and across all sites.
Our chefs must be energetic and passionate about cooking. They must have experience in creating and implementing innovative daily specials which will inspire our kitchen team and customers’ palettes alike but will also work during a fast-paced service.
Good organisational skills are essential.
- Safe preparation/storage of food
- Stock control/rotation
- Competently run all sections of the kitchen
- Complete daily section prep list
- Comply with all health and safety regulations
- Support in the daily kitchen due diligence checks (fridge temps/food temps)
- Lead by example
- Maintain our high levels of cleanliness
Good cookery and organisational skills are fundamental but we want our chefs to have a positive, energetic disposition.
Communication and cooperation are key
Experience:
Our ideal candidate will have prior experience in working within a high pressured, fast-paced service environment.
To become part of our kitchen team you will need the following:
- Punctual, reliable and hard-working
- Passionate, energetic and enthusiastic
- Minimum 2 years working within a similar role
- Level 2 food hygiene certificate
