As a Vehicle Damage Assessor, you will inspect damaged vehicles, prepare accurate repair estimates, and work closely with technicians and the Bodyshop team to ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
You will help manage repair progress, authorise additional work where required, and liaise with technicians to resolve any issues, ensuring excellent customer service throughout the repair process. The role also includes following manufacturer guidelines, health and safety procedures, and industry standards, while benefiting from ongoing manufacturer and industry-approved training and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect damaged vehicles and accurately assess repair requirements
- Prepare estimates for parts and labour to support efficient repair planning
- Work closely with technicians to interpret job cards and resolve repair queries
- Monitor repair progress and help ensure work is completed on time and to the highest standard
- Authorise or obtain approval for additional repair work where required
- Liaise with the Bodyshop team regarding repair updates and any delays
- Ensure repairs are completed in line with manufacturer standards and approved repair times
- Support safe working practices and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
- Contribute to delivering an excellent customer experience throughout the repair process
- Participate in ongoing manufacturer and industry-approved training and development
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, Estimator, or within an accident repair/bodyshop environment is desirable
- Strong understanding of vehicle repair methods and estimating processes
- Good knowledge of manufacturer repair standards and workshop procedures
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technicians and colleagues
- IT literacy and experience using estimating systems would be advantageous
