Responsibilities
- Safely assemble and install solar panel arrays on rooftops, ground mounts, or other designated sites using hand tools and power tools.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators to prepare sites for installation projects, ensuring proper foundation setup.
- Utilize welding techniques when necessary to secure mounting structures and ensure structural integrity.
- Conduct electrical wiring and connections following electrical codes and safety standards to ensure system functionality.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot system issues during installation and perform routine maintenance as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Inspect completed installations for compliance with specifications, safety regulations, and performance expectations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, and mechanical work in construction or renewable energy projects.
- Familiarity with excavator operation or willingness to learn safely operating heavy machinery.
- Basic electrical experience or knowledge of electrical systems related to solar energy setups.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and installation instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail during installation and troubleshooting processes.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Relevant certifications or training in welding, electrical work, or heavy equipment operation are a plus but not mandatory.
