Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within catering, food preparation, and restaurant operations. The successful candidate will be passionate about food safety and customer service, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude.
Responsibilities-
To assist in organising and controlling the efficient and economic production of quality food within the allowed budget, whilst maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Food preparation
- Assist the Cook in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals,
- In the absence of the Cook you will be required to undertake this role
Communication
- Participate in Staff and Service User meetings as required
Training and Development
- Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence
- Attend mandatory training days/course, on or off site as and when required
Health & Safety
- Wash up after meals. Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area and dining areas is carried out effectively
- Ensure statutory Health & Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas
- Report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Service Users, colleague, self or another
- Understand, and ensure the implementation of the Care Centres Health & Safety policy and Emergency and Fire procedures
- Report to the Home Manager, Handyperson or Person in Charge any faulty appliances, damaged furniture equipment or any potential hazard
- Promote safe working practice in the Care Centre
- General
- Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Care Centre.
- Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties
- Notify the Home Manager or Person in Charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and also on your return to work from all periods of absence
- Ensure the security of the Care Centre is maintained at all times
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales
- Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
- Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you
SHIFTS WILL BE 7.30AM- 5.30PM OR 7.30-1.30PM ON A FLEXI ROTA 3-4 SHIFTS PER WEEK
Pay: £13.00 per hour
