SSF Metal Products Ltd are recruiting for an experienced STEEL FABRICATOR / WELDER to produce bespoke and low volume steel fabrications.
We are a manufacturer of structural and architectural steel fabrications based near West Bromwich in the West Midlands producing and fitting all manner of fabrications from structural steel frames, staircases and canopies through to automated gates and railings for a customer base both within the greater West Midlands and further afield.
Salary will discussed at interview; We anticipate rates in the region £14-18 per hour depending entirely on skills and experience. Core working hours are 7am to 4pm, Mon to Fri + Overtime
As a STEEL FABRICATOR / WELDER your duties & responsibilities will include:
- Hands on fabrication & welding of structural steel, architectural & decorative pieces
- Mainly factory based with visits to customer sites for fitting & installation
- Working from engineering and architectural drawings
- Occasional site installation & fitting work
- Promoting a “right first time” culture
- Ensure quality & accuracy of fabrication work
To secure this STEEL FABRICATOR / WELDER opportunity you will need to display the following key skills & experience:
- Hands on welding & fabrication skills (primarily mig welding)
- Working accurately to technical drawings
- Structural steel fabrications including sections, frames & staircases
- Architectural & decorative fabrications including gates, fencing and handrails
The following would be advantageous although further training will be given:
- Working in accordance with ISO & CE accreditations
- CSCS card for site work
- Site welding accreditations
This STEEL FABRICATOR / WELDER opportunity will ideally suit an experienced Fabricator and Welder used to producing bespoke and one off work to engineering drawings. While site fitting experience would be an advantage, and command a higher rate, it is not essential as this is a workshop based position.
