Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Despatch Assistant to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the logistics and distribution functions of the company by ensuring that products are packaged, labelled, and dispatched efficiently. The role involves working closely with the warehouse and transport teams to ensure timely and accurate despatch of goods to customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately picking and packing products for despatch.
- Performing spot checks on outgoing products to ensure correct quantities and condition.
- Preparing and processing orders using despatch software and systems.
- Maintaining accurate records of despatched goods and inventory levels.
- Ensuring all goods are despatched on time and in compliance with delivery schedules.
- Following stock management and despatch processes and procedures.
- Liaising with the sales team and delivery drivers to coordinate shipments.
- Handling any despatch-related queries and resolving issues promptly.
- Assisting with stock management, including organising and maintaining a clean despatch area.
- Supporting the wider team with general warehouse duties when necessary.
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely, in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and the ETI safety policy.
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:-
Previous experience in a despatch, warehouse, or logistics role.
Knowledge of carrier procedures (desirable).
Experience using despatch or inventory management systems.
Forklift licence or willingness to learn.
