Sodexo is looking for a Food Service Assistant to join our catering team at Hunterhouse College.
You’ll help deliver a friendly, efficient food service while supporting the team with food preparation, customer service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
It’s a hands-on role where teamwork, reliability and great customer service make a real difference.
What you’ll be doing

Food service: Prepare, present and serve food to Sodexo standards

Food safety: Follow HACCP, hygiene and allergen procedures, including requirements for special diets

Stock: Receive, check and store deliveries, including temperature checks and stock rotation

Service areas: Set up and replenish food counters, vending machines and dining areas

Customer service: Provide a friendly, welcoming service and operate the till when required

Cleaning: Keep catering areas, equipment, crockery and service areas clean and hygienic

Waste management: Dispose of catering waste safely and correctly

Events: Support special functions and events when required

Teamwork: Work closely with the catering team and support colleagues where needed
What we’re looking for

Previous catering, hospitality or food service experience is desirable

An understanding of food hygiene and HACCP

Good awareness of allergens and special dietary requirements

A friendly and professional approach to customer service

Good attention to detail and pride in your work

Reliable, flexible and willing to support the wider team

Good communication skills and a positive can-do attitude
-
Willingness to learn and complete relevant training
