Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a reliable Class 2 Driver to join our busy team at Kingdom Timber Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various construction Sites throughout Scotland, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for driving and someone with experience in transportation.
Responsibilities
- Operate flatbed lorries in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely distribution of goods.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit, adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs as required by company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with Production office, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Follow all legal requirements related to driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and load limits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with flatbed vehicles.
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating large goods vehicles (LGV)
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent driving skills with a good driving record.
- Ability to organise routes efficiently and manage time effectively.
