Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester/Mechanic to join our professional automotive team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests, diagnosing vehicle issues, and carrying out repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal and safety requirements, ensuring vehicles meet all necessary standards before certification.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using specialised tools and equipment, identifying faults accurately and efficiently.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models, including engine work, brake repairs, suspension, and exhaust systems.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs, replacements, and adjustments.
- Assist with vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to determine the root cause of problems.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or installing parts or components.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and services performed in compliance with company policies.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic or MOT tester with relevant certification.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across a wide range of vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for repair tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of routine duties.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and quality workmanship.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Valid MOT tester certification (preferred but not essential if willing to undertake training).
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: £26,363.59-£40,768.48 per year
