Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.
The role
As part of the School's continued growth and expansion, we are seeking to appoint a fixed term (3 years) part time (0.6 FTE) teaching-focused Lecturer in Chemical Engineering. The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery and continued development of our undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes in chemical engineering, bringing enthusiasm for high-quality teaching and a commitment to enhancing the student experience. You will be responsible for lectures, tutorials, laboratory classes and project supervision, as well as academic duties including student assessment, marking and pastoral support. There will be an opportunity for you to align with an existing research group within the School.
About you
You will hold, or be close to completing, a PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Alternatively, applicants with a relevant bachelor's degree together with substantial industrial or professional experience in chemical engineering will also be considered.
You will have a passion for delivering an outstanding student experience and a commitment to excellence in teaching. Experience of curriculum development, industrial engagement, student placements or professional accreditation would be advantageous.
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably motivated individual to help shape the future of chemical engineering teaching and research provision within the School.
Applicants will be appointed at Lecturer A or Lecturer B level dependent on experience.
