Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating excavators safely and efficiently on various projects, ensuring the smooth progression of site activities. Responsibilities
- Operate excavators to perform digging, trenching, lifting, and material handling tasks in accordance with project specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency, reporting any faults or maintenance needs.
- Assist with site preparation and clean-up activities, maintaining a tidy and safe work environment.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with site supervisors and other team members to execute tasks effectively and on schedule.
- Transport materials or equipment using commercial driving skills when required, adhering to road safety laws.
Skills
- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction or civil engineering setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues independently.
- Valid commercial driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Excellent awareness of safety procedures and compliance standards on construction sites.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy loads when necessary. This role is ideal for motivated individuals who take pride in their work, prioritise safety, and possess the technical skills necessary for efficient excavator operation.
