Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Recovery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring timely re covery operations. This role requires a professional approach, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various recovery scenarios with confidence.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to recover and transport vehicles or equipment.
- Conduct pre-journey inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with road regulations.
- Safely load and secure recovered items using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Navigate routes efficiently, adhering to delivery schedules and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding recovery status and estimated arrival times.
- Maintain accurate records of recoveries, mileage, and vehicle condition.
- Assist with warehouse tasks as needed, including loading, unloading, and organising stock.
- Perform routine mechanical checks and basic maintenance on recovery vehicles.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a recovery or delivery driver.
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles, including flatbed lorries.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and minor repairs.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work under pressure.
