We are looking for a passionate, hard-working and friendly individual to join our Carriages Kitchen Team. We require an experienced chef with a background in catering and food service. You will be preparing of our homemade afternoon teas and high teas.
The job position would be Tuesday to Saturday, shifts between 9am-4.00pm. Contracted 40.00 hours a week with overtime hours available when needed.
Carriages has become one of the go-to venues in Cambridgeshire for Afternoon Tea, this means we are very popular and have advanced bookings. We specialize in seasonal home-made afternoon teas and pastries made from the finest local ingredients and produce.
You will be required to assist and ensure that the kitchen is maintained at a high level of cleanliness at all times.
Experience/Skills required:
- We are looking for someone with experience in a similar position
- Able to work well within a team
- Must be organised
- Confident knowledge and experience with food safety required
- Previous experience with stock management and leadership roles
- Experience with kitchen service
- Hygiene certification preferred
- English speaking
- Right to work in the UK
- 18+ years old
Job Summary:
- Work along side a team to prepare sandwiches, cakes, scones and savouries for each days service
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff in required kitchen sections
- Help run our daily food service
- Oversee stock control/stock rotation
- Assist with menu ideas
- Tuesday to Saturday shifts
- Full time position - 5 days a week
- Hourly rate will be determined based on experience & age
- Shared tips with staff on shift each day
- Permanent position
- Clean/wash kitchen equipment when required
- General cleaning and maintain cleanliness in kitchen
