The H&S Officer supports the organisation in maintaining a safe, healthy and legally compliant working environment for employees, people we support, their families, contractors and visitors.
The H&S Officer will provide professional advice, undertake audits and inspections, investigate incidents, deliver training and work collaboratively with managers to promote a positive health and safety culture across the organisation.
Travel across Cavalry Group services is essential and will include travel across the North West and Midlands.
Responsibilities
- Assist the organisation in complying with all relevant health and safety legislation
- Monitor compliance with company health and safety policies
- Support managers in implementing safe systems of work
- Ensure statutory inspections and testing are completed and appropriated recorded
- Keep all health and safety documentation up to date
- Deliver health and safety training to managers and employees
- Monitor mandatory training compliance
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers
- Review and update health and safety policies and procedures
- Ensure policies reflect current legislation and best practice
- Support implementation of new procedures
Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Knowledge of UK H&S Legislation
- Experience carrying out investigations and audits
- Experience in risk assessments
