Mad Science is looking for enthusiastic Science Presenters to deliver exciting, hands-on after-school science clubs in primary schools.
Every week you'll bring science to life through fun experiments, interactive demonstrations and engaging activities that children absolutely love. No science degree is required – we'll provide all the training you need. What we're looking for is someone with excellent communication skills, confidence leading groups of children, and a genuine passion for inspiring young minds.
About the role
- Deliver fun, engaging one-hour after-school science clubs in primary schools.
- Travel to local schools and set up before each session.
- Create a safe, exciting and well-managed learning environment.
- Inspire children's curiosity through hands-on experiments and activities.
- Represent Mad Science professionally in schools.
- Your own reliable Car Required for the role, as carrying science boxes to various schools each week is essential.
Locations
Afterschool clubs available throughout South Wales, Cardiff, Newport, Bridgend and Swansea areas.
We will aim to schedule you to the clubs closest to your home postcode, with up to 30 minute drives to locations expected. Mileage paid at 30p a mile outside of a 15 mile drive.
This is term-time only work, with opportunities to work between three and five weekdays afternoons each week, depending on your availability.
You will also need to be available for an Area meeting each week at one of the below locations and times.
Swansea - 10.00-11.30am Thursdays
Cardiff - 9.00 -10.00 Fridays.
Bristol - 10.00-11.30 Fridays.
What we offer
- £30 per after-school club, with £10 a session bonus if all terms clubs are completed.
- Rising to £50 hour club within first year if sucessful.
- Additional bonus for completing an agreed block of clubs. Potential to earn £220 a week for 7 hours work. Raising to £275 within a year.
- £25 paid, hour long, meeting each Friday.
