Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Bistro Chef to join our independent Coffee House on a part-time basis. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of a variety of food items, including sandwiches, pastries, and light meals.
- Support the kitchen team with cooking and plating dishes to meet quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency.
- Ensure all ingredients are stored correctly and stock levels are monitored regularly.
- Support in meal preparation during busy periods to ensure timely service.
- Adhere to health and safety policies at all times, including proper handling of food and equipment.
- Contribute positively to team efforts, assisting colleagues as needed to deliver excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Experience working in a restaurant or coffee shop / bistro environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- A genuine interest in culinary arts and hospitality.
- Good communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers and team members.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
