Out of School Club Assistant at D’Eyncourt Primary (Internal Only)

Permanent Position
Hours: 15 hours per week (Monday- Friday- Mornings 8am -8.45am and After School 3.15pm-5.30pm)
Main Responsibilities
- To assist the Out of School Club Supervisor to ensure smooth delivery of the out of school programme
- To maintain a safe and stimulating play environment and to assist with preparing activities which encourage children’s social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development through play
- Implement organised activities, which meet children’s individual developmental needs to encourage development of social skills and self-discipline, ensuring that equipment and materials are effectively utilised and safely stored
- To be aware of the academy’s behaviour guidelines and deal with the misbehaviour of any pupils keeping the Out of School Club Supervisor informed
- Provide appropriate care and support to pupils ensuring their welfare and hygiene needs are met
- Monitor designated areas ensuring that any incidents or security breaches are reported appropriately to ensure safeguarding of pupils
- In the event of any injuries deal immediately with the situation referring to the Out of School Club Supervisor and following the academy’s policy and procedure
- To assist in the preparation and serving of basic meals ensuring that any special dietary requirements for pupils are adhered to
- Perform basic cleaning tasks to meet the health and safety standards of the academy
- Assisting in the handover times including ensuring the effective transit of pupils to and from classrooms and ensuring appropriate procedures are followed for collection of children at the end of the session.
- To assist the Out of School Club Supervisor in maintaining accurate records of pupil and staff attendances
- To provide basic first aid to pupils, referring as appropriate and completing necessary paperwork
Other Duties
The duties and responsibilities in this job description are not exhaustive. The post holder may be required to undertake other duties that may be required from time to time in accordance within the general scope of the post.

CHILDCARE (DISQUALIFCATION) (Applicable to Primary aged Schools)
In accordance with the Childcare Act 2006 and the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulation 2009 the Governors are required to obtain an additional staff disqualification declaration for employees within settings providing care for early years childcare (this covers the age range from birth until 1st September following a child’s fifth birthday i.e. up to and including reception age) or later years childcare (this covers children above reception age but who have not attained the age of 8) in nursery, primary or secondary school educational settings, or if when directly concerned with the management of such childcare related establishments. This declaration is to confirm that you are not disqualified ‘by association’ to anyone currently residing within your household who is disqualified under the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulation 2009
