This is a brilliant opportunity for a motivated Management Accountant who wants more than just producing reports. At UCLH, you’ll sit at the heart of the Medicine Board Finance team, working with senior leaders across a portfolio that shapes how the Trust functions every day. Your work will directly influence decision-making in a complex, fast-moving organisation that delivers world-class patient care, research and education.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys ownership, thrives on problem-solving, and can turn financial data into insight that non-finance colleagues genuinely value. You’ll need curiosity, confidence, and the ability to build trusted relationships – this is a role where people will rely on you, listen to you, and act on what you say.
In return, you’ll join a supportive, high-performing finance team in a Trust consistently rated as one of the best places to work in the NHS. You’ll be encouraged to develop, to challenge constructively, and to grow your career in an environment that values flexibility, inclusion and continuous improvement..
As a Management Accountant within our Medicine Board Finance team, you’ll act as a trusted finance partner to senior managers and budget holders, helping them understand their financial position and make confident, informed decisions. You’ll take ownership of a varied portfolio, working closely with non-finance colleagues to translate complex financial information into clear, practical insight.
You’ll be hands-on in shaping forecasts, explaining variances, and identifying risks and opportunities early, while also contributing to wider corporate reporting and improvement work across the Trust. This is a role for someone who enjoys balancing accuracy with pace, and who can stay organised and calm while working to tight deadlines.
You’ll need to be analytically minded, detail-focused, and able to communicate clearly – whether that’s in writing, in meetings, or when challenging assumptions constructively. Just as important is your attitude: a collaborative team player who takes pride in their work, is keen to learn, and wants to make a meaningful contribution to the NHS.
